On-Premise Exchange Migration to M365 Cloud

Key Challenges

The Client has been in the business of Hospitality since 1914. Over the years the Client had grown significantly, requiring an extensive IT infrastructure.

The Client was using On-premise Microsoft Office 2010 Exchange which was out of support and vulnerable. They struggled with the maintenance difficulties and lack of scalability of the On-premise infrastructure supporting their operations. Scalability issues affected their capability to respond to customer transactions during peak hours. Network and data center shortcomings restricted application availability. Planning for and adding capacity took too much time and added costs.

They didn’t have the capabilities of Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Multi-factor Authentication (MFA), and Cloud App Security/Geo-Fencing. The existing on-prem solution resulted in manual archiving and higher infrastructure costs.

Most businesses considering cloud migration have initial apprehension because cloud platform benefits come alongside considerable challenges, including improving availability and latency, auto-scale orchestration, managing tricky connections, scaling the development process effectively, and addressing cloud security challenges.

The CRES Solution

Ideally, a successful migration should feel as seamless as possible to the organization, with no disruption in service.

CRES migrated the Client to Microsoft Office 365 Cloud securely, smoothly, and with zero downtime and disruptions. In essence, the Client enjoys fully automated deployment operations without any operational burden.

The cloud onboarding process for applications was well thought out, quick, and smooth. Having a generic, serverless platform helped optimize migration and reduced operational expenses.

Considering Cyber Security protocols, CRES also implemented Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) for all Office 365 users to make their accounts secure.

In the future, Client will use SharePoint Online to store, organize, and secure its documents. All their data and documents will be in a centralized location.
